From Concept to Site: How Landings' Feasibility Software Changes the Game

One of the biggest barriers to scaling vertiport infrastructure has been the time and complexity involved in evaluating whether a specific property is suitable. That barrier just disappeared.

Landings has developed proprietary feasibility software that can analyze commercial properties for vertiport readiness—and we're now opening beta access to real estate professionals and portfolio owners.

What the Software Actually Does

The platform evaluates multiple factors simultaneously to determine whether a site will be feasible for vertiport infrastructure. As Lisa Wright explains, "What we're looking at is the size of the parcel, how it's zoned—if we're allowed to have a vertiport there—how much energy is going into the site, or if we're going to have to build additional energy infrastructure, the contour of the site, is it level."

The software also integrates FAA data to identify any airspace obstructions in the area. This comprehensive analysis used to require weeks of manual research and coordination across multiple agencies and databases. Now it happens in minutes.

The Portfolio Breakthrough

What's particularly exciting is the recent addition of portfolio-level analysis capabilities. "We can load, for example, I'm interested in groups like Prologis. We can upload every Prologis location onto our map and then run an analysis on everyone to see if they're feasible for a vertiport to kind of whittle down how many of the Prologis locations we'd approach them about."

This changes the economics entirely. Rather than evaluating properties one at a time, we can now analyze 500 locations in approximately 20 minutes. For companies with extensive real estate holdings across rural markets, this means you can quickly identify your best opportunities without conducting expensive feasibility studies on every property.

Built for Scale

The development process reflects Landings' infrastructure-first approach. "I had a team this summer start on it, did all the criteria logic in the background, and found the appropriate APIs and data sets, and then I've had a couple of developers working on it," Lisa explains.

The system currently covers 36 counties for testing, with the ability to add new counties within 48 hours if someone wants to evaluate properties in their specific region.

Beta Access for Real Estate Professionals

Right now, Landings is selectively offering beta access to the platform. The ideal users are real estate professionals, landowners with commercial property portfolios, and companies with multiple rural locations.

The platform is gated to maintain quality and focus on serious commercial applications, but if you own portfolios or large amounts of commercial property, beta access is available.

Why This Matters for Fundraising and Growth

From a business development perspective, the software serves two critical functions. First, it demonstrates genuine market interest. Property owners actively wanting to evaluate their sites for vertiport infrastructure validates the demand side of the equation.

Second, it shows operational capability. "It shows that our team has the capabilities to kind of scale," Lisa explains. Both factors are essential as Landings moves into its Q1 fundraising phase.

The Current Submission Process

On the Landings website, there's already a submission form where property owners can submit an address. The current workflow sends an email response thanking them, then the team runs the analysis internally and returns the report.

With beta access to the actual platform, real estate professionals can run these analyses themselves, explore multiple properties, and identify opportunities across their entire portfolio.

Looking Ahead

This software represents more than just an efficiency tool—it's infrastructure for scaling infrastructure. As electric aviation moves from concept to commercial reality, the ability to rapidly identify, evaluate, and secure suitable sites becomes a competitive advantage.

The companies that can analyze hundreds of locations and move quickly on the best opportunities will establish market position before others finish evaluating their first site.

If you're a real estate professional or portfolio owner interested in beta access, reach out through the Work With Us page at landings.co. Priority is being given to users with commercial properties in rural markets and those with portfolio-scale opportunities.
